Route 66

Travel across America from east to west via the legendary Route 66. The 2485 miles route takes you in two weeks to large cities and small villages where time seems to have stood still. Route 66 is the ultimate American road trip! Route 66 was officially abolished in 1985, but today many travelers still follow this American classic. This tour through America takes you through eight states and dozens of different landscapes. On the Chicago to Los Angeles route, you’ll have pancakes in typical American dinners, sleep in retro motels and drive from one special place to the next.

Dallas

With 1.2 million inhabitants, Dallas is the third largest city in Texas. It is the city where John F. Kennedy was murdered on November 22, 1963. Dallas is also known for the television series of the same name that was recorded here in the 1970s. Take a few days off for your visit to Dallas and take a tour of all the sights.

Houston

Houston is the connection between the United States and space and owes its nickname ‘Space City’. The Space Center of NASA is one of the best known landmarks in Houston. With over two million inhabitants, Houston in Texas is the fourth largest city in America. NASA coordinates all space missions from ‘Space City’. The name of the city is also the title of the capcom, the person who speaks directly with the astronauts in space. Of course you visit the Space Center of NASA, but Houston has more to offer: from old museums to gigantic shopping centers.

Austin

The capital of Texas breathes music. The country rock comes from Austin and there are live concerts every night. The city is crowded during the SXSW music festival. The slogan ‘Keep Austin weird’ reflects the special status of the city. Austin was established in 1839 in a bend of the Colorado River. The city grew with the founding of the University of Texas in 1839. The bustling student life is visible during the hot summer evenings.
